To celebrate there will be a massive blowout this weekend featuring superb live bands which will raise money and food for the Lethbridge Food Bank.
On Friday, Dec, 18, Skull Train To Hell Town with be performing along with the Smokin’ Pistols, the Moby Dicks, the Square Waves, Smokestack Jacks and the New Weather Machine. Saturday, Dec. 19 features the Phantom Creeps, Jesse Northey and the Dandelions, the Necessities and Matt Robinson.
There will be a $7 cover charge with a canned food donation, or $10 without each night. Henotic will give five per cent to the bands and the other five per cent to the food bank.
“It’s been fantastic,” said Henotic owner Jason Beacock.
“The highlight has been all of the great people I’ve met and of course the live music,” he said adding his favourite performers this year have been Elliott Brood and the Shout Out Out Outs.
“There’s a lot of things we’re working on for next year. It’s going to be bigger and better.”
Other cool shows this week are the Highway 3 Roots Review at the Geomatic Attic, Dec. 16 with Leeroy Stagger, Dave McCann and John Wort Hannam and Sweatshop Union.
And Dec. 18 is your last chance to dance before Christmas with Hippodrome at the Slice.
Singer Songwriter Amy Bronson is back from Guelph for Christmas and will be bringing her music to the Slice, Dec. 21.
There are lots of open mics this week.
Treeline hosts the Slice open mic tonight while Jen Bailey hosts Henotic’s open mic Wednesday and on Thursday, Beaches Pub has on open mic on Thursday with Greg Gomola and friends.
