The Owl Acoustic Lounge was packed for Library Trivia, Oct. 10 as well as performances by Moose Jaw singer/ songwriter Megan Nash and Yellowknife singer/ songwriter Mary Caroline, who were winding Megan Nash singing some stripped down Pandacorn songs.  Each musician played songs in between library trivia judging. Nash sang a beautiful one which she has played several times before in Lethbridge.

After the trivia Mary Caroline began her very pretty set of original music. There were some common themes weaved in between gorgeous, folk flavoured melodies. She sang a lot about darkness, coldness and the dark side of love in cold weather.Mary Caroline playing songs from her new CD. Photo by Richard Amery

“Sunny Side of Love,” was a highlight, as was her love song “Cold World.” For something different she turned Hank Williams’ “Cold, Cold Heart” into a lovely jazz  number, thanks to her smooth, chipper voice.
She ended with ann “unrequited love song” called ‘Apparition’ off her CD ‘Who’s In Control.’

Megan Nash was up next, armed only with an acoustic guitar instead of behind the bank of keyboards she usually has when performing with Pandacorn. She played one of the Pandacorn songs on acoustic guitar and followed in up with another Pandacorn song ‘Mother’s Daughter.’ Her voice was a lot more raw than Mary Caroline’s, but very appealing.
She sang about childhood memories and  failed love.
