Photo Submittedtime to play the Slice, Aug. 8.

“ We’ve got a lot of country flavours. We started playing as a rockabilly band,” described “Fat Dave”  Johnson who is joined by  Tom Kerr, Nathan Oullette and Alex Thurgood.

“ There were three of us in the beginning but now there are four of us. Things started taking off as we started making a lot of noise together,” he continued.

They only formed in 2012, but have a vintage rock and roll sound reminiscent of bands like Southern Culture on the Skids, Jason and the Scorchers,  Arizona roots rock like the Refreshments,  a lot of Brian Setzer and the Stray Cats and even a touch of Social Distortion.

They released their  debut full length CD ReTurn of the Century earlier this year and an EP on vinyl a couple years ago.
They plan to re-release ReTurn of the Century in vinyl in the fall.
“We just got the test pressings of it,” he said.

“ Vinyl is a little more special. People respect vinyl more, than just another throw-away CD.,  They take it more seriously,” he said.
“ When we formed  we released an EOP on just vinyl because we just wanted to have something to sell at our shoes,” he said.

The band doesn’t play much around  their home town of Edmonton.

‘Not as much as we‘d like to. But we don’t want to oversaturate it,”he continued.
They also don’t tour as much as  they would like.

“ Unfortunately we still have day jobs. But summer is the best time together and roads are a little more forgiving  in the summer than in the winter around here,“ he said.
They are looking forward to their first time in Lethbridge.

“We’ll be playing all night long at the Slice. It will be a pretty good night of vintage rock and roll,” he said.
“It’s going to be a good place to be,” he said.
