Tofu Stravinsky played something a little different at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, July 25 as they blended jazz with uptempo indie rock.
Guitarist Tyler Toews took turns singing lead vocals with Sarah Orton, who sang the more sultry jazz numbers.
There was a solid bass and drums groove from bassist Pat “the Cobra McTaggart” and drummer Edward T while keyboardist Jon Perry added subtle musical flavourings.
They turned ’80s rock nugget “Tainted Love” into an enjoyable jazzy number.
Toews sang a few more upbeat alternative rock songs, but their set was very “chill” as promised.
