Lethbridge rocks this week

There is a lot of scrappy rock music happening this week with plenty of indie rock, experimental rock and punk music going on throughout the week.

Calgary's Go For the Eyes will show their continued evolution at the Slice this time on Oct. 8. They usually play the Owl Acoustic Lounge but are excited to try a new venue.
They are bringing Regina’s Indigo Joseph, who promise to never play the same style of song song twice.


Regina punk band the Royal Red Brigade plays the Vent in Coaldale as well this week on Oct. 10 with Douchknuckle and guests to be announced. Admission is $8 at the door.
 The Slice is also bringing in  Swedish punk band the Scrags to Lethbridge, Oct. 9 with local alternative rock band the Void and the Ruby Plumes. Admission is seven dollars.

 And don’t forget Vancouver based metal band Incura returns to Lethbridge, Oct. 11 featuring Kyle Gruninger, who is a familiar face at New West Theatre. They play Inferno with local metal bands Obsidian Soul, Accalia and rapper Sin Sane. Admission is $10. The doors open at 8 p.m..

 


Inferno also features a big rap and hip hop show on Oct. 10 featuring Factor and Evil Ebenezer plus special guests Random Humans and Cquel. The show begins at 9:30 p.m. There is a $5 cover for the show.
 For more mainstream rock, Average Joes brings in Tragically Hip Tribute The Hip Show, Oct. 11. Advance tickets for the show cost $15 or $20 at the door. The show begins at 9:30 p.m. Average Joes brings back Cal Toth's Dueling Pianos on Oct. 10.


 The big country show of the week  brings Brad Paisley and special guest Brett Kissell to the Enmax Centre, Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m.. Tickets cost $59.50-$95.50.


 Casino Lethbridge also has country music this week with Calgary singer Shannon Smith.


The Owl Acoustic Lounge goes folk this week with Ken Stead hosting the Oct. 8 jam and Kitchener, Ontario songwriter Lynn Jackson with Mercedes Fawns performing Oct. 10.
Local singer songwriter Matthew Robinson returns to the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Oct. 11.
