Robin Woywitka and the Super 92 rock the roots

For some thing a lot different from the punk and alternative rock crashing around the other venues,  Edmonton's roots-a-billy band Robin Woywitka and the Super 92s played a laid back set of roots, country and a touch of  ’50s style  rock  and roll reminiscent of Buddy Holly at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Oct. 3.Robin Woywitka and the Super 92.  Frontman Robin Woywitka even looked like Holly and definitely had his Texas twang in his voice. He definitely had a lot of ’50s style Gretsch twang.

They played a variety of country, roots and blues music including covers of Muddy Waters and  obscure Bruce Springsteen”s “Johnny Bye Bye.”

Drummer Alex Jumpsen played subtle jazzy drum solos drawing applause from the audience.
