Vampires Like You cover their experimental bases

While I missed  the opening set from local rock band the Mormon Girls, I caught a big, loud set of experimental indie rock from bass Vampires Like You experiment. photo by Richard Ameryand drums duo betterhalf who tried out some new songs and kept  a solid rhythm, Oct. 17, at the Slice.

But I was very impressed with Winnipeg duo Vampires Like You.

They got their feet wet with a jammy instrumental and  then caught the wave.
Guitarist/ vocalist  David Dobbs and drummer/ vocalist Matthew Powers  played a  long set of experimental rock touching on indie rock,  noise rock and straight ahead punk.

They had some decent vocals and kept the crowd on their feet for the show, clustered around the front of the stage.

Jon Vornbrock joined them on stage  to shout  lead vocals for one of their songs.

They played plenty of big riffs and rock solid drumming throughout their show.
