He comes to Lethbridge with the Swollen Members’ Prevail, Kyprios, Prada West, Indelibe and local acts F-Bomb, Sin Sane , D-Linkwent and Heavy Knowledge as part of the  West Coast Renaissance tour, which hits Inferno, Nov. 7.

He dropped his most recent CD  the Black Box Ep to much acclaim.

Among his many projects, Neph has a new CD coming out with Prevail, though he will do a separate tour to support that.

“It’s a little too easy to work with Prevail,” Neph said.

“ It’s been fun. There's a certain relationship that I have with him. He’s pretty easygoing. I’ve known him since I was born. He’s my mother's brother,” he  enthused adding he grew up listening to the Swollen Members, so it seemed like a natural fit to try his hand at hip hop.

The  new project to be released under the name Alpha/Omega featuring Prevail, will be released in 2015.

“ The subject matter is  based on what I’m taking from my life. There's no pop songs and no slow songs, it’s all just  heavy underground hip hop,” he described.

“ I’m very excited for this tour,” he said adding it will last a month.

“I enjoy the freedom of hip hop. There are so many different genres of hip hop. Just because you are  put in a certain genre, That does’t mean  you should only do that. I like to take control and do the things I want to do,” he said.

“I listen to a lot of underground hip hop and I try to stick to that,” he said.

He is excited about sharing a bill with Kyprios.

“ He’s a very talented guy. It’s nice to be able to learn from him,” he said.

The West Coast Renaissance Tour comes to Inferno, Nov. 7. Tickets are $25 The show begins at 8 p.m.
