Toronto pop/ indie folk duo Scarlett Jane will be singing beautiful vocal harmonies at the Geomatic Attic, Oct. 15 in support of their new, self titled CD. Special guests the Silkstones will be joining them at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $22.50.


 If you like your rock dirty, nasty, loud and frenetic, Vancouver rock/ punk/ blues duo the Pack AD return to the Slice, Oct. 16. They were last in Lethbridge opening for Alice In Chains at the Enmax Centre last year. There is a $10 cover for the show which also features local funk rock band Cosmic Charley.


 For something a little more laid back the LSCO presents a special three day fundraiser at the Yates Centre, Oct. 16-18. From the Starlight Lounge features  a 17 piece big band and numerous local performers ( Mark Campbell, Morgan Day, Jessica Ens, George Gallant, Kade Hogg, Jordana Kohn, Sheena Lawson, Diane Llewelyn-Jones, Mike Richey and Mark Ward) including a reunion of Fran Rude and Ken Rogers performing the songs of Johnny Mercer popularized by luminaries like by Tony Bennett, Bing Crosby, Michael Bublé, Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra including classics like Moon River, Satin Doll, The Old Black Magic. Blues in The Night, Autumn Leaves and Skylark. Tickets cost $35. The performances begin at 8 p.m. each night as well as a 2 p.m. matinee, Oct. 17.


There is another big fundraiser for headbangers. Scotchtoberfest VII features Ontario AC DC tribute Who Made Who, local rockers the Raw Dogs and the Lethbridge Firefighters Pipes and Drums who will be raising money for the Alberta Fire-fighter Burn Camp for Children.


 It takes place at Average Joes, Oct. 17. Tickets are $30 on the day of the show, $25 in advance.
Average Joes rocks this week. If you missed them at Whoop Up Days, The Glorious Sons return to Joes, Oct. 18 with Poor Young Things and Northcote, this time as part of their Contender tour.
 Glorious Sons have several songs getting airplay on modern rock radio including “Mama,” “ White Noise,” “ Heavy, ” “Lightning” and the current single “Contender.” Advance tickets are $17 or $20 at the door.


 Average Joes also tickles your funny bone this week by bringing back Kenny vs. Spenny, Oct. 15. Tickets are $30 in advance, $25 on the day of the show or  $50 for a VIP ticket. The night begins at 8:30 p.m. The Owl Acoustic Lounge also features comedy this week with their comedy open mic on Wednesday, Oct. 14.


 There is a lot of local music as usual. The Old Man River band is playing country music at the Casino Lethbridge on the weekend at 8 p.m. each night, Oct. 16 and 17. Local CCR influenced rock band the Juxtaposers return to the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Oct. 16 to play some rock and roll.  There is no cover for any of  those shows, though Killage is pay what you want.


 And local metal band Killage plays  the Slice, Oct. 17. The cover is pay what you want.
The Slice features a solo show from Winnipeg roots and folk musician Patrick Leclerc, Oct. 15. He is best known for his work with Little Miss Higgins and the Winnipeg Five and his own band the F-Holes, but explores his bluesy side as he tours in support of his new solo CD “ Strange New World.” There is no cover for the show.


 The Slice gets the next week off to a heavy, groovy start as they welcome back Edmonton stoner rock trio Black Mastiff, Oct. 20 with local progressive rock trio Lustre Creame.


There is also a big rap show this weekend at Studio 54, Oct. 17 featuring  Snak The Ripper with Jaclyn Gee, Puke and LRev. Admission is $20 or $30 for a VIP pass.
Last but not least. Lethbridge Comicon 3 features comic  related fun for the whole family at  The Exhibition Park West Pavilion, Oct. 16-18
