I caught the end of a solid set of folk and roots music from Ontario singer songwriter Pat Maloney at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, April 2.
He entertained an attentive audience with his big baritone voice reminiscent of Waylon Jennings and Jamey Johnson.
In addition to singing appealing folk music he told jokes with a wry sense of humour reminiscent of Todd Snider.
He strummed his guitar, sang into one mic and whistled solos into another microphone as he played music from both his CDs “Root Rot” and “Repotting.”
Of these “Thanks for Everything” and his set ending song about gypsies were highlights.
