Taber born, Calgary based singer songwriter Tanner James played for an intimate audience at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, June 3.
As usually he played a strong set of gently strummed guitar, pleasant melodies, heartfelt songs and plenty of stories.
He played one of my favourites “ What Girls Want,” prefacing it with a long story about being inspired to write it while at Lethbridge College.
In addition to his own songs, he sang a few covers including his show ending version of Bruce Springsteen’s “ I’m on Fire” which he introduced by telling about joining a country cover band and playing Calgary Stampede gigs during which people requested Springsteen.
