This week is a little bit of rock and roll and a little bit country.

 The fun begins at the Enmax Centre, Nov. 9.  If you like pop country as Florida Georgia Line return to Lethbridge with Chris Lane and  Granger Smith on their “Dig Your Roots Tour.”
 The three musicians have multiple chart topping hits all over the radio, with Florida Georgia Line best known for “Cruise,” “ It’z Just What We Do” “ Round Here,”and “ H.O.L.Y.”
Florida Georgia Line’s Dig Your Roots Tour with Granger Smith and Chris Lane, comes to the Enmax Centre, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m.
 Tickets are $63.50-$89.50.

 Get ready to rock an roll with a couple of Calgary’s best bands. Cowpuncher and Napalmpom play Pulse, Nov. 10 with special guests Aaron Trozzo and the Electric Few. Doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance from Blueprint.

Remembrance Day weekend has a lot going on as well. On the country side of things, Winnipeg songwriter Trevor Alguire returns to the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Nov. 11 with his band to tour in support of his new sixth CD “Perish In The Light.”
 And Vancouver based indie folk/ rock collective the Tourist Company return to the Owl Acoustic Lounge the next night, Nov. 12.
 Admission to both shows is by donation.

 The Owl Acoustic Lounge also have a special Monday show, Nov. 14 with Richard Inmann and  Sean Conway. Richard Inman is becoming a staple of the Winnipeg roots and country community.
Local blues rock band Driving while Blind play Casino Lethbridge Nov. 11 and 12.

 Of course there are open mics at Honker’s Pub, where Driving While Blind often play. There is an evening open mic on Friday beginning at 8 p.m. and an afternoon open mic every Saturday including Nov. 12 from 3-7 p.m.
 On the pop side of things Cal Toth’s duelling pianos returns to Average Joes, Nov. 11.

 Looking a little further down to calendar, Average Joes welcomes back Canadian country music star Aaron Pritchett, Nov. 17 with Julian Austin, who are both certain to put on a great show of rock and roll tinged country music. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 on the day of the show.

 And if you missed the Bashed Tatties playing Average Joes, for Scotchtoberfest VIII or enjoyed them so much, you want another taste, they return to Average Joes, Nov.10. Cal Toth and buddies Joe Brewster, Damon Mudrack, Jess Dickson, Brady Valgardson and Doug Sokolski are sure to get your long weekend off to a Celtic fueled start.
 There is also a fun metal show on the weekend, Nov. 12 at the Smokehouse, with Calgary/ Edmonton based folk metal band Scythia plus Pacific coast blackened death metal band Sirens Rain. They will be joined by a new local metal band To The Mountains. Doors open at 8 p.m., with the music beginning at 9 p.m.
 Admission is $10.

Last but not least, the November ukulele jam is  2-3 p.m. at Casa, Nov. 13.

 And good news everybody— the Slice has officially reopened. Pretty much everybody stamped RIP on the popular live music venue back in August. But fortunately the Slice has a second life under the new ownership of Jesse Smith. Tyler Freed is still making delicious pizza and Jesse Freed can still be found working the sound board.
On first glance there doesn’t appear to be a lot of changes other than a new paint job, cleaned up washrooms and all of the art has been removed from the walls. More importantly they are continuing to present live music, usually Friday and Saturday nights.
 Last week they featured a Halloween bash, Shaela Miller Band and a few other events.
They have added a karaoke night on Tuesdays and their popular open jams are now on Thursday nights. And the Lethbridge music community has their home back. So long live the Slice. May success come your way.
