Edmonton rock band Royal Tusk, who have played Lethbridge twice this year, are excited to talk about the third single from their latest  CD “Dealbreaker,” which will be hitting mainstream rock radio “Soon.”
 The new single, “Soon,”  is the follow up to  the previous two singles “ Fever” and “ Curse the Weather.”

“We decided on “Soon” with our record label,” said Royal Tusk frontman and guitarist Dan Carriere.

“We were debating on releasing it earlier, but  decided it was better as the third single,” he continued.

 He is pleasantly surprised with the response the CD has received from  mainstream radio. And what’s not to like, there are catchy melodies, foot tapping beats and guitar harmonies sprinkled throughout the CD.

Bassist Sandy MacKinnon, guitarist Quinn Cyrankiewicz, keyboardist/guitarist Mike James and drummer Calen Stuckel complete Royal Tusk’s lineup.
“It is a more straight forward rock song like a Bryan Adams song, with a really catchy chorus,” added Cyrankiewicz.

“We feel like we can have fun with it,” he continued.
 They always enjoy playing Lethbridge.
 They finished a big tour in support of the album by playing Bigwood 9, Aug. 27. Their previous Lethbridge show at Studio with Fake shark  also finished  a tour, May 27.

“ I remember we had a great party,“ Carriere said.
 This visit, was a laid back vacation which they combined with a radio and media tour in support of the new single, with stops in Red Deer, Calgary and a couple of stops in B.C. including Kamloops and Kelowna.

 

They are enjoying some time off the road by doing some writing for the next album.
“It will be heavier,” Cyrankiewicz said.

“There will be more guitar and less keyboards on the next one,” he continued, noting the aren’t going to let the success of “ Dealbreaker” influence the direction of the next CD.
“We try to come from a genuine place. Hopefully you hear it as well,” MacKinnon said.
“For the next one, we want to strip everything to the core,” Cyrankiewicz said.
