I only caught the last few songs of Jesse and the Dandelions ’ homecoming set at the Slice, Dec. 30.

 The stage was darkened as Northey’s quavering voice rang through the room for  approximately 80 people enjoying ethereal, mellow indie rock music.

As usual, the band, plus special guest guitarist Jon Martin,  played sedate , ambient indie rock, but wound down the set with a cool cover of the Beatles’ “Strawberry Fields Forever.”
