Shaela Miller had a magnificent turnout of close to 200 people for the release party of her first full length CD “Love is Brave,’ March 13 at the Bill Kergan Centre.

I caught the second set of the almost completely full room which had many of Shaela Miller had an excellent crowd at the bill Kergan centre for her CD release party, March 13. She started the second set with an up beat cover of local musician Randy Shaver’s ‘Nothing,’ followed by an upbeat version of my personal favourite ‘Manchester.’ She followed that with an excellent version of her South Country Fair Songwriting competition winner ‘Loving Me.’

She also played  some covers of Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash and Bird added some haunting background vocals to one of my favourites off the new CD,  ‘Lonely.’

Ackerman adds some great new flavours to Miller’s music on lap steel and even played what sounded like a couple violin lines on his lead guitar.
