Plenty of country music this week

 Edmonton rockers Royal Tusk return to Lethbridge to Play Coyote Joes in support of their CD Dealbreaker. They will be joined by Regina rock band the PistolWhips.


Rock with Royal Tusk,  and the PistolWhips March 1 at Coyote Joes. The show begins at 8 p.m. at Coyote Joes, March 1.
 Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door.


 Also on Wednesday, March 1, jazz singer Ellen Doty returns to Lethbridge to play a show at Casa with Vancouver saxophonist Eli Bennett and guitarist Josh Crowhurst. She was a highlight of the Lethbridge Jazz Festival a couple years ago. Tickets for this show, which begins at 7:30 p.m. , cost $20.


 There is also a lot of country music in town, which is appropriate as the PBR Bull Riding returns to the Enmax Centre, March 4 and 5.


 But to get you in the mood, rising country star and Juno award winner Brett Kissel plays the Enmax Centre, March 2. He has a hit “Airwaves” on the airwaves now and in September 2016, received multiple CCMA Award wins, including trophies for Male Artist of the Year and Fans’ Choice. Tickets are $40-$59.50.


Julian Austin plays a pair of free PBR bull riding after parties at Coyote Joes, March 3 and 4.


If you like bluegrass music, the Misery Mountain Boys play the Lethbridge College Cave, Saturday, March 5 for the Lethbridge Folk Club with Charlie Ewing and  Bob Blair opening the show at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 members, $30 for invited guests.


 And local country trio Hurtin return to the Owl Acoustic Lounge, March 4.

 There is also a lot of alternative rock. Johnny 2 Fingers and the Deformities return to Lethbridge to play the Slice with the Mormon Girls and A Trozzo and the Electric Few, March 4 at the Slice. There is a $10 cover.

 


 Also on March 4, The U of L Headbangers Society feature  local bands Sidestepping the Sun and  No Devil Lived On playing a free show at the University of Lethbridge Zoo, March 3. at 7:30 p.m.


 There is also music for a good cause as local R and B pop band Hippodrome headline the Community Cabaret at the German Canadian Club.
Tickets are $20 for the show which begins at 7 p.m. with all proceeds going to community building initiatives through Coalition of Municipalities Against Racism and Discrimination).


 And for something completely different, Pretty , Witty and Gay winds up with a cabaret at the Sterndale Bennett Theatre, March 4.
In the same building, catch the last World Explosion of dDance at the Yates Theatre, March 3 and 4. There will be dance from all over the world featured.
All week ton they feature the play  the Curing Room in the 10,000  Villages basement.


 And there is a great classical music show  at Des Cite De Prairies, March 3 at 8 p.m. where the Lethbridge Symphony orchestra presents Extras B— Latin Fever, featuring a variety of Latin classical pieces performed with special guest Dale Ketcheson
 Lethbridge Symphony Extras, March 3 at La Cite des Prairies Latin Fever with Dale Ketcheson and Museaus. Tickets are $35 for the concert, $50 for the meet and greet experience.
Yuk Yuks comedy returns to Average Joes, March 3 with Todd Ness, Eric Steel and Dan Hymus.
 And, last, but not least, Outrun the Arrow lead singer Bridgette Yarwood plays a solo show at the Mocha Cabana, March 3.
