“ We’ve never played Lethbridge before, though we’ve passed through it,” said drummer Marcus Manhas, who is joined by band mates lead singer Sam Trainor, lead guitarist Malcolm Owen-Flood and bassist Sean Marcy.

“ We‘re excited to get out there with Bend Sinister. We don’t really know them, but we know of them and we’ve got five shows with them,” he continued, while working in the band’s Cowichan Bay studio on Vancouver Island.

The Ep and single were officially released, Oct. 13.

“We‘re really excited to have it out,” he said, noting the band formed in June 2013.

He said the EP shows off the band’s various influences.
“We explored old blues, but the EP is a good mix of both old blues and more modern influences,“ he observed.

They recorded the EP with well known producer Eric Ratz, who has worked with a variety of hard rock acts like Billy Talent, Monster Truck and the Arkells.

“We recorded it at The Warehouse, Bryan Adams’ studio. Eric is such a positive guy. He is full of experiences and  he told us  stories about the Arkells,” he enthused.

“He knew the sound we wanted and he knew exactly how to get it. But he‘s such a relaxed guy. He really helped us to be the best we could be and help create the best sound for the record,” he continued, adding it paid off.
“Response has been really good, We‘ve been getting play on college radio and on the Zone 91.3 in Victoria,” he said.

He noted the single ‘holler’ came together easily.
“Malcolm came up with the guitar riff and after that it was really simple, ” he said, adding frontman Sam Trainor writes most of the lyrics.

“He writes a lot about relationships and more personal things,” he observed.
“But they are really positive songs,” he said.

They are looking forward to the show.

“It’s really high energy. We like to make it a new experience,” he described.
“It’s electrifying and fun. We’re excited to bring it across Canada,” he continued.

“Then in December we’ll take some time to write some more,” he said.
