The Owl Acoustic Lounge had a full house, Friday, Nov. 17, enjoying a night of fem-positive music  and a preview of some acts performing at Femmewave in Calgary.

 I was only able to catch local trio WITS ( synth/ vocalist Amanda Bigford, guitarist/vocalist Shannon Dooley and bassist /vocalist Kristen Krein, on a bill which also included San Diego’s Soft Lions and Seattle band Ground Sloth orchestra.

 WITS played an entertaining set of femme positive pop and garage rock music interspersed with spooky audio clips of conversation.

They  combined quirky synths with scrappy guitar and laid back bass.
