If John Lennon and George Harrison never died and got back together with Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney for a big Beatles reunion show, the result might sound like Reunion Beatles, which stops by the the Southminster United Church, Sunday, May 13. “It’s a fantastic concert. It’s different than a Beatles greatest hits show. It’s more like the Eagles “When Hell Freezes over tour,’” described founding member Nick Bold, a respected solo artist in his own right , who has played George Harrison in the Reunion Beatles since the group formed seven years ago.

“We play the Beatles’ hits, but the guys also play the Beatles’ solo hits. It’s great fun, said Bold, who bears an uncanny resemblance to George Harrison, which lead to a hit appearance on the TV show “Stars In Their Eyes,” which in turn lead to plenty of gigs performing Beatles hits and eventually the Beatles Reunion show.

“We started this show seven years ago and it took some time to get the right guys, but we have them now,” Bold said.

Bold’s background includes a record deal with Atlantic Records and performances all over the world. He recorded two albums with his band Virginia Wolf.
He got into the Beatles through his sister and immediately gravitated towards George Harrison.

“People always told me I bore an uncanny resemblance to George Harrison, both in looks and voice. When my older sister was 12, she was really into the Beatles. They were like the One Direction of the time,” said Bold who lives a mere 30 miles outside of the Beatles’ home of Liverpool.

“George was my first guitar hero. I’m a lead guitar player and I get to play a lot of great lead guitar in this show. I even play the solo on “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” though Eric Clapton played the original,” he said.

“I’m very proud of it,” he said.

Surprisingly, The Beatles Reunion tour  doesn’t play in the United Kingdom and this tour will be their first time in Canada.

“We’ve never been to Canada, so we‘re looking forward to it,” he said.

“We haven’t played the United Kingdom very much, but touring there is something we’d like to do,” he continued.

They are very popular in the United States.

“We’ve played all over the U.S.A,” he said.
The Reunion Beatles play the Southminster United Church at 7 p.m., Sunday, May 13. Tickets are $45.
