He wrote “Taking my Time,” with Nashville songwriter Ryan Sorestad, a fellow Canadian transplant from Saskatoon, who moved to Nashville who worked on a lot of the songs on the upcoming CD with him including  the single “ Falling Like the Rain.”.

Kipfer  spends most of his time on the road, but splits home time between Nashville and Milverton, Ontario.

“ I’ve never been afraid of the work,” said Kipfer enjoying a coffee on the Good Earth , one several stops on a Cross Canada promotional tour for the new CD and single.
“I’ve really taken my time with my first CD. I’m 35 now, but  I spent a lot of time  working on my songwriting and learning about the business. This  has always been the end game for me to pursue a music career,” he said.
He draws inspiration  from life experiences .

“There ’s a place for truck and beer and party songs. I want to draw from real life experiences,” he said.
“ Story songs are the cornerstone of the Grand Old Opry,” he continued.

“ I want  to make people feel compassion and write about experience people find relevant to them,” he said.
He is enjoying touring Canada on a promo tour.
“ It’s been nice to  tour Canada  talking about this project,” he said.

Kipfer parleyed the contacts he made working behind the scenes in the music business to make his debut album.
“It’s been a slow burn. I’ve tried to keep a delicate balance in my life of work,” he continued.

Before  recording the CD, he has been a DJ in Hamilton, a guitarist, was  an A and R Rep who played a role in discovering singer Ryan Laird by helping him with his campaign to get a record deal by putting up a billboard asking  to Taylor Swift to produce his album on Music Row.
The album has three duets — with Emily Reid on “No Good Way,” Janelle Arthur on ‘Long Way Home and with the Western Swing Authority on “May The Good Lord Take A Liking To You.”
“ i wrote with a lot of artists I’ve worked with over the past 15 years,” he said.

“Wading In The Water’ was inspired by ‘Fishin’ In The Dark.’ It’s my fun fishing song,” he said pointing it out as one of his favourites.
“There’s not a lot of filler on this album. all of these songs mean a lot to me,” he said.
“I’ll just ride the wave and take it as far as it goes,” he added.

In addition to being a musician, he recently took up cartooning and has been selling his works online to great success.
“I wanted to be a Disney cartoonist in high school before i caught the music bug. I always enjoyed drawing,” he said, noting he reproduces well known cartoon characters and started taking it really seriously two years ago.
“I contacted one of the Disney Cartoonists Tom Bancroft through Instagram and he wrote back. I was impressed he wrote back, he said.

“Someday I’d like to do both, writing music and cartooning, he said adding he is working on an animated video for  his song “Wading In The Water.”
He is planning a formal tour supporting the new album.
“I’m just really excited to have this music,” he said.
