Red Deer groove rock trio King Bull braved wintery weather to play for approximately 25 people at the Slice, March 2.
 The trio, formerly  known as Sweet Grass, brought a suitcase full of big bass , solid grooves and Guitar referencing the ’80s and late ’70s.

 They had a bit of a power metal/ hair metal sound with big riffs and guitar tricks, as they bounded all over the stage.

 They sounded like Motley Crüe in places, musically anyway.

They played mostly original music, but added a hyperactive version of Van Halen’s hit “Ain’t Talkin ’Bout Love,” then followed it up with an equally hyperactive  version of Cheap Trick’s “Surrender.”
