Wendy Colby plays new indoor stage at Owl

The Owl Acoustic Lounge has started doing shows inside. They have been putting shows on their improvised outdoor patio.
To conform to Covid regulations, venues have to put plexiglass in front of the performers.

While Sound Garden and Honker’s have opted for  sheets of  plexiglas in front of the stage, the Owl Acoustic Lounge has followed the Slice’s lead by having performers play in a plexiglass box.

Local singer-songwriter Wendy Colby was in the middle of her set by the time I arrived.

She tenderly picked her Les Paul style guitar, eyes closed, lost in thought, singing ethereal melodies for a quiescent crowd.

She played a pretty relaxed set and sounded a little like Joni Mitchell, which was enhanced as she paused to re-tune her guitar for a more exotic feeling song, then tuned it back again to finish her set on a more upbeat note.
