There’s lots of fun if you are  staying close to home for Thanksgiving.

Open mics are back in force this week. Tonight, Tuesday, Oct. 6, there is the Owl Acoustic Lounge’s weekly open mic as well as Good Times’ weekly comedy open mic. Devin Gergel hosts the open mic at Beaches as usual on Wednesday Night, and Kevin hosts the Slice’s Thursday night open mic.


Open mics are also back at Honker’s Pub. Aaron Landry hosts an open mic on Friday, Oct. 9. Honker’s Pub is closed for Thanksgiving weekend
 The Slice has started a Saturday afternoon open mic. In the evening, the Dark Wrangler return to the Slice stage.

But, before that, kick off your long weekend Friday with some Red Deer rock as trio King Bull return to the Slice with local rock band the Suit Jacket Society. There is a $10 cover for that show.


Suite 33 make a long awaited return to the stage with two dates at Sound Garden on Friday and Saturday night, Oct. 9 and 10. There is a $10 cover for that show.

 The owl acoustic lounge features TJ Waltho and Keenan Pezderic aka Shallow Lilac on Saturday, Oct. 10. Wendy Colby returns to the Owl Acoustic lounge on Friday with Kevin Giron.


Good Times is just the ticket for people looking for a laugh. Calgary comedian Brett Forte will be making you laugh on Saturday, Oct. 10 at Good Times. Tickets are $15 for the 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. shows.
 Roast battles are also back at Good Times on Friday night, Oct. 9 at 9 p.m. Tickets are $20.

And Theatre Outré’s production of Confessionals has been extended until Nov. 1.

 The one on one innovative  immersive theatre experience features seven different playlets inspired by the seven deadly sins and is well worth experiencing.
