Lo fi fun at Owl with Slut Prophet and Body Lens

It’s nice to have the Owl and Slice so close together, to run between both in between set breaks.

Calgary’s Slut Prophet returned to Lethbridge to play the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Friday, Sept. 3.

They played upbeat, lo fi raw garage rock. They also added an energetic cover of the Kinks’ “All Day and All of the Night.”

They also tried out a couple new songs on a receptive audience. The Lead singer asked the audience to  let her know what they thought of the new songs she switched back to keyboard from guitar.

I missed most of Body Lens’ set because the changeover was faster than I expected.

Their last two songs were played experimental, intense more ’80s new wave, groove inspired indie rock which

echoed Devo.

Rhinestone NDN, or Dan Auger of Calgary noise rockers Dri Hiev op

ened the set with electronica music.

He crouched over his synthesizer, squeezing out

weird sounds and pulsating bass lines.
