The last couple of weeks  have mostly been all about drama— the best kind local actors treading the boards in a plethora of wonderful  plays.

 This week is all about blues music, country blues ,music with a touch of punk rock and metal  added for variety.

 Keith Woodrow is back at the Slice tonight, Tuesday, Nov. 14 to host the blues jam. The Owl Acoustic Lounge‘s open mic is also tonight..

 

 Get ready to rock on a Wednesday with A Trozzo Electric, Ol Ben and Regina  songwriter Christopher Sleightholm and the Beautiful band rocking the Slice stage on Wednesday, Nov 15. There is a $10 cover for the show that begins at 9 p.m.

 

 It is a also a busy week for fundraisers.

 Lunch Date perform a Fundraiser for Rotary at Honkers Pub on  Thursday, Nov. 16 from 5-9 p.m.. There will be a silent auction, 50 50 draw and Lunch Date are on stage 7-9 p.m. There is no cover. 

 Gabe Thaine has a busy week.

 All of his Thursday night open mics at Theoretically Brewing  are doubling as a fundraiser for the Lethbridge Soup Kitchen as there will be a donation bucket there for a good cause.

 Gabe Thaine performs at 6 p.m. with the open mic to follow at 6:30 p.m,.

 Thaine puts on his blues hat as Prophet Gabriel the next night for a blues show at The Onion , Friday, Nov. 17. The music begins at 8 p.m. 

 There is no cover.

 

Paul Kype and Texas Flood will play the blues for you at Honkers Pub on Friday, Nov. 17 as they host the open mic beginning at 8 p.m.

Duelling pianos with Cal Toth and Anna McBryan returns to  Honkers Pub, Saturday, Nov. 18. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Showtime is 7 p.m.

Don Robb and Randy Epp play jazz music at the Watertower Grill, Wednesday, Nov. 15 from 6-8 p.m. 

 Calgary favourites l’omelette combine a touch of blues with a lot of jazz, a plethora of pop and a whole lot of excitement when they return to the Slice, Friday, Nov. 17.  There is a $15 cover for the show.

 

The first of several country shows is Thursday, Nov. 16 as Lethbridge born actor / musician Devon Brayne puts on his Man in Black persona for  Folsom Prison Revisited at the Enmax Centre. Brayne and a hot band will be performing your Johnny Cash favourites, focusing on Cash’s landmark 1968  Folsom Prison concert in a show that is part  concert, part tribute and part play. The music begins at  7 p.m.. Tickets are $55 and $65.

 Saturday night is all about roots and country music.

The Enmax Centre also hosts Terri Clark and Paul Brandts  Homecoming Tour, Saturday, Nov. 18. Tickets are $49, $59, $73, $86, and $106. The show begins at 7 p.m.

For more vintage sounding roots  and western swing styles music, The Lethbridge Folk Club hosts Northern Alberta band the Misery Mountain Boys  and Dr. Lar bar on Saturday, Nov. 18 beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets  are  $35 members, $40 non members and $10 for students .

 

 Border Bound play country music at Casino Lethbridge this weekend.

Local roots band Fourth Place Ribbons featuring with Chris Drew, Kevin Peters and keyboardist TJ Waltho return to the Owl Acoustic Lounge,  Saturday, Nov. 18 with Fourth Place Ribbons. Admission is by donation.

Tyson Ray Borsboom, Kevin Giron and  Wells Good return to the Owl Acoustic lounge on Friday. 

If you want to rock, the Chevelles return to the Place to play all your favourite hits,, Friday, Nov. 17 beginning at 9 p.m, Tickets are $15 in advance.

 If you want to bang your head a little, the slice  has a big punk show on Saturday, Nov. 18 with Saskatoon hardcore band Krash, Repair and local bands MomBod and  the Hockey Moms. There is a $15 cover.

 Good Times has your laughs for the week with  Pro Amateur Night hosted by  Les Fox and Brittany Lyseng returning for Friday and Saturday.

 the Owl Acoustic lounge features Theatre Outré’s presentation of Sissy Talk on Wednesday, Nov. 15.

 Looking ahead, The Owl Acoustic Lounge has just announced Fernie based Stoke folk band Shred Kelly will be returning to Lethbridge on Dec. 15. Tickets are $22.63 online. The show will begin at 8 p.m. 

I don t want to say the C word yet, but if you want get a head start oN Christmas shopping, and more improtantly, support local artisans, check out Christmas at Casa, Nov. 17 and 18 at casa. Admission is free and there will be live music too.
