Though the skies were grey for the fourth of July, some high energy Canadian  rockabilly helped blow thoseEve and Mike Hell made their Lethbridge debut, July 4 at the Geomatic Attic. Photo by Richard Amery clouds away during the rockabilly riot in  the Geomatic Attic parking lot.

Unfortunately Hurricane Felix canceled due to injury, but local rockabilly trio Bent 8 featuring Dean Wilson on drums as well as  Dino Caravaggio and Pat Ackerman helped warm up the  a crowd of approximately 125 with a variety of originals and a few Elvis  hits.

Calgary rockabilly trio Eve Hell and the Razors were an immediate highlight in their Lethbridge debut.

Eve beamed ear to ear as she thumped away on the stand up bass while her husband Mike Hell knocked off the rockabilly licks on his big Gretsch. They played a variety of upbeat rockabilly originals as well as a few Johnny Cash songs including  ‘Big River’ and ‘Get Rhythm.’

Cousin Harley, aka Paul Pigat,  plus the master of the bass face Keith Picot and drummer Jesse Cahill, were jaw dropping awesome.

Especially Pigat who, as promised, showed impressive musical range from crazy Chet Atkens style finger picking, western swing, straight ahead rockabilly to pure insanity.

In between songs, he joked he was going to beat his band while bassist Picot cracked jokes. He wound down his set with  the title track from his latest Cd and a cover of an old Scotty Moore song.
