Februrary begins with a little bit of everything.

 The biggest event of the week is The Sound of Music.

 TheLethbridge Symphony Orchestra and  Little Lethbridge Opera Society  collaborate to bring the beloved Rodgers and Hammerstein musical to the Southminster United Church, Feb. 1-3. Tickets range from $10 for children to $80 for the best seats in the house for this special show, which begins at 7:30 p.m. each night.

 

The other big show of the week is Rockers and Rebels For A Cause— a fundraiser for the Lethbridge Food bank at the Place on Friday, Feb. 2.

 Some of Lethbridge’s finest musicians will be playing for a great cause beginning at 6 p.m.

 Jolene Draper and  Steve Martin open the night at 6 p.m. Rebel Angels 50s follow at 8 p.m..

 Border Bound bring you to midnight beginning at 8 p.m. 

 And Undefined close out the night  at midnight.

 Admission is $10.

 

The weekend starts mellow at casa as Wander West play Celtic and country and folk music  from 12:15- 1 p.m. for The Lethbridge Conservatory of Music‘s  Lunch and listen program. Admission is free.

 

 There are heartfelt singer songwriters at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Friday night  with Lethbridge’s Wells Good and Elisha Lazenby plus Former Lethbridgian Max Hopkins, who now calls Calgary home.

 Admission is by donation.

The Slice turns things up a with local rock cover bands Good Time Charlie and Citizen Radio rocking the joint on Friday. There is a $10 cover charge for the show, which begins at 9 p.m.

Things  get loud at the Owl Acoustic Lounge For Jacqueline Kennelly’s 33 on the 3rd birthday. Her band Lady Grime and Prairie Scum and The Rainbow Patrol  tear the roof off the owl on Saturday, Feb. 3. Admission is by donation. 

 There will be  silent auction for  Outreach Southern Alberta at the show.

 

The Empress Theatre in Fort Macleod has a busy couple of weeks  beginning Wednesday, Jan 31 with Jake Vaadeland and the Sturgeon River Boys. David Francey and Terra Spencer plays the Empress on Feb. 8.

Also out of town, Bow City underground return to KCS Pub in Coldale, Saturday, Feb. 3 to rock the place with your favourite music. There is a $10 cover for the show, which begins at 8 p.m.

For laughs, Brian Dawdniuk hosts pro amateur night at Good Times on Wednesday, Jan. 31.  Bobby Warrener provides the chuckles at Good Times Friday, Feb. 2 and Saturday, Feb. 3.. Tickets are $19.95.

 

 The Snowed in Comedy Tour show  featuring comedians Dan Quinn, Pete Zedlacher, Erica Sigurdson and Paul Myrehaug bring the Snowed In Comedy tour back to the Yates Theatre, Feb. 2 . Only single tickets are available for $57 adults;$46 seniors; Students $29.75.

 Danica Sommer hosts ther Slice’s open mic on Wednesday.

 The newly renovated  Theoretically Brewing has its first Celtic jam on Thursday, Feb. 1 with hosts Celtic Routes. The fun begins at 7 p.m. 

 Luke James Bruce hosts Honkers Pub’s open mic on Friday, Feb. 2.

 The Old Man River Rattlers  aka Kyle Bischke, Garrett Jackson and Andy Dyck, host Honkers Pub’s open mic this week hosts Honkers Pub Open mic on Feb. 3.
