Because a good portion of Lethbridge’s music community including both fans and and musicians, will be going up to Fort Macleod for the South Country Fair, it ends up being a pretty slow week for live music in Lethbridge.
However there is one big show happening this week at Coyote Joes, July 16.
Scottish classic rockers Nazareth will be playing an array of hits like ‘Razamanaz,’ ‘This Flight Tonight,’ ‘Love Hurts,’ and ‘Hair of The Dog.’
The band features original members , bassist Pete Agnew and lead vocalist Dan McCafferty with lead guitarist Jimmy Murrison and drummer Lee Agnew.
Tickets are $40 in advance, $50 at the door. The show starts at 10 p.m.
The Slice is going out with a bang before they close up for South Country Fair, they are bringing in Calgary metal band Kobra and The Lotus, July 14 with local Alexisonfire meets the Foo Fighters inspired rock band Berserker.
Fred Eaglesmith is in Lethbridge tonight to play the Slice, however the show is sold out.
For something a little more mellow, local country /folk singer Karen Romanchuk plays the Mocha Cabana on Friday and Saturday.
And as per usual there are a lot of open mics this week. Ben Brown hosts a popular open mic on Wednesday at the Bar One Lounge, next to the Sandman Inn. There are four open mics on Thursday including an acoustic jam at the Owl Acoustic Lounge and an acoustic open mic at the Good Earth Coffee House. Plus there are open mics at Beaches and at Coyote Joes.
On Monday, July 19, South Country Fair favourite Lily Fawn accompanied by her band Lily’s Brightest Dark Lullabye band will be playing the Slice with Mike Grabow and Greg Gomola.
