Begin December with a whole lot of laughter.
November ends with the stand-up comedy open mic at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, which features some of Lethbridge’s funniest people.

 Another gaggle of funny folks will be performing in Hatrix Theatre’s production of ken Ludwig’s comedy/ thriller “The Game’s Afoot.” which runs at the Nord Bridge Senior’s Centre, Nov. 30- Dec. 3. tickets are available for $15 in advance or $20 at the door. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. There is also a matinee on Saturday at 2 p.m. Tickets are selling quickly with only 95 still available at Blueprint as of press time.

Club Didi also features comedy this week, with Deez Ovaries featuring female comics, Dec. 1 beginning at  8 p.m.

Over at Club Didi, Theatre Outre brings their improvised soap opera  Gomorrah High to to a close on Dec. 2 at 10p.m. Admission is $10.
Kick off the weekend by enjoying some jazz music with Don Robb and Randy Epp at the Mocha Cabana, from 6-9 p.m., Dec. 2.
The Slice features some fun events on the weekend.

Calgary based indie rock band Windigo return to Lethbridge to play the Slice, Dec. 2  with  fellow Calgarians Time Boy, who will be playing some post rock and Medicine Hat band Swim. The show begins at 9 p.m. There is a $10 cover.

 The next night local promoter Mase One celebrates his birthday with an eclectic night of rock and roll and rap music, Dec. 3. Calgary punk/ rock duo Miesha and the Spanks will be performing with Calgary based rappers Transit and Jam  plus local rappers Lrev and Doggie Starr. Admission is $15 for the show which begins at 9 p.m.

 
Average Joes enjoys their Sunday night shows. This Sunday, Dec. 4 they bring back Calgary pop songstress Jocelyn Allen who combines elements of funk, soul, reggae and pop into her music. The concert begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 on the day of the show.

You can tell  the Christmas season is getting into full “sing” because there are a couple of big Christmas shows this week.
 The Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra’s annual presentation of Handel’s “Messiah”  runs at the Southminster United Church on Sunday, afternoon, Dec. 4 at 2:30 p.m. and Monday night, Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m.
The concert features the Chinook Chamber Singers,soprano Janet Youngdahl, mezzo-soprano Sandra Stringer, tenor Timothy Shantz and bass-baritone Ian Fundytus. Tickets range from $25-$75.
 If that doesn’t get you into the Christmas spirit, then pop singer Jann Arden is sure to do the trick as she brings  “A Jann Arden Christmas” to the Enmax Centre, Tuesday, Dec. 6. Tickets are $64.50 and $74.50. Her show, which will include Christmas favourites and her hits, begins at 7:30 p.m.
