Randy and Mr. Lahey share Trailer Park Boys humour

Two of the Trailer Park Boys shared their earthy maritime humour for a good sized crowd at Average Joes, Oct. 6
I’d never really appreciated the popular television show until I saw Randy and Mr. Lahey performing live.

Let‘s just say the live show is a lot like the television experience.  So there was a lot of profanity, a lot of drug humour and  a lot of variations on  “s--t”, “s--tstorm,” “s--t weasels,”  “s--thawk,” you name it it was “s--t something” and all the while simultaneously stupid and hilarious.Mr. Lahey and Randy have fun with a guest they pulled onto stage with them. I arrived in the middle of a surreal sketch involving a couple Batman outfits and masks, involving both of the characters swooping all over the stage in front of a painted backdrop looking like the Trailer Park Boys set and a table full of props including a Nova Scotia flag, a sailors hat and much more, which they utilized to the full extent.

And while Mr. Lahey, played the drunken buffoon just about perfectly, reeling around and falling over the stage, as he brought an audience member, dressed as Barbara from the show, took her wig, pretended to grope her and then fell to the floor, you could tell the actor John Dunsworth  knew exactly what he was doing.

There was a mischievous twinkle in his eye as he delivered one of Lahey‘s catchphrases “I am the liquor, Randy.”

They had some fun with garbage bags,  using them as  a “personal, portable pot smoking room.”
Dunsworth ended their first set by wandering into the audience and booing Randy, who responded “You aren’t part of the audience Mr. Lahey, you’re not supposed to boo.”
I left during the break and missed their cheeseburger eating contest which was rumoured to be part oftheir second set.
