The exhibit, ’Intimacy,’ runs at The Dr. Penny Foster Building, Aug. 25-Sept, 14.
It features female and non binary artists from as far away as Montreal.
“It’s an artistic celebration of femme and non binary artists who are exploring the themes of body image and self love,” observed curator Kylie Fineday.

The exhibit features the works of 19 artists who have submitted approximately 30 pieces including textile art, paintings and photographs.
Winnipeg artist Mahlet Cuff is the featured artist of the exhibition who submitted a series of four photographs.

“They are about black women and their relationship with their hair,” she said.
Participating artists include Afrooz Moatari-Kazerouni, Angeline Simon, April Matisz, Arianna Richardson, Brookelyn Shimbashi, Carlan Hughes, Courtney Faulkner, Echo Vieira, Hana Falconer, Jamie Lewis, Kasia Sosnowski, katie marie bruce, Laurel Scott, Marian Godfrey, Meghan MacWhirter, oualie frost, Shanell Papp, Stephanie Wilson and Tess Mitchell.

Montreal artist Marian Godfrey came from the farthest away for the exhibit.
“We accepted everyone who applied because their works were related to the theme,” Fineday noted, adding organizers put out a call on social media for artists to submit.

“And Femme and non binary organizations are  pretty closely networked,” she continued.
The opening reception is 5-7 p.m. when the exhibit opens Aug. 24 and will be running until Sept. 14 Monday-Fridays 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
