Lineup finalized for the Lethbridge Roots Music Festival at Legacy Park --
The Lethbridge Roots Music Festival is a full-day, family-oriented, free festival taking place in the iconic 73-acre Legacy Park on Saturday, August 20, 2022 starting at noon until 7:30 p.m. A joint presentation of the Lethbridge Folk Club and the Lethbridge Jazz Society, the Lethbridge Roots Music Festival features multiple stages, children’s activities, music workshops, food trucks, vendors and a beer garden.
Headlining the main stage is John Wort Hannam, nominated as Roots Artist of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards. John will be appearing with a full band and showcasing his new album ‘The Long Haul’. We are also pleased to be presenting Ryland Moranz and his band, with their mix of rustic alt-country and poignant folk, Makiisma, a self-described doom-folk band, guitarist Larry Steinbrenner, local blues favourite Papa King, and Braden Gates, who won a 2022 Canadian Folk Music Award in the Best Traditional Album category for his recording ‘Kitchen Days’.
Magnolia Buckskin, an acoustic trio featuring gorgeous three-part harmonies, will be hosting a vocal harmony workshop and performing. Bryan Bradfield will be performing at the festival and hosting a workshop on his instrument of choice, the dobro.
Reid Seibert and Karen Romanchuk will host a songwriting workshop. The workshops will take place in the new Community Room in the park’s Pavilion Building.
We’re looking forward to a day of fun and music in the sun, enjoying these fabulous artists, great food, children’s activities, and the many amenities the park has to offer, such as the amazing new spray park. See you there!
