Little Miss Higgins are a Nokomis, Saskatchewan based blues/jazz duo including Little Miss Higgins (Jolene Higgins) and guitarist Foy Taylor who are touring in support of their new CD ‘Across The Plains’
Perspective from a new found fan:
"We found ourselves walking down Red River toward 6th, trying to find
someway, someplace, something that could somehow bring down our heart
rates before we combusted from the machine gun pounding in our chests
and brains. We ducked into a small, surprisingly well-lit bar that
seemed relatively comfortable and spared of the shoulder-to-shoulder,
elbow-to-elbow compound of the usual SXSW venue.
Inside, we stumbled upon Little Miss Higgins, who was in the middle of
her set. An Alberta native reared in Independence, Kansas, Little Miss
Higgins was a welcome break from the high-volume massacre we’d just
endured for the last two hours. The vision of a sweet, innocent,
dark-haired lady, guitar in hand, on stage singing good ol’ fashioned
blues tunes accompanied only by the acoustic of her partner, Foy
Taylor, was a sepia tone shot of a time long gone by. Little Miss
Higgins (or Jolene Higgins) kicked and sashayed around the stage in a
blue dress and black heels — her red lipstick bright under the lights
as she crooned songs of snow-covered country roads, broken hearts, and
the comfortable feel of discounted panties at the bargain store. She
looked like she could have been a second cousin of the Carter Family or
Loretta Lynn’s long lost little sister. Even still, in a culture and
industry that signs checks on the amount of skin that a woman is
willing to show in photo spreads, magazine covers, on television and/or
on stage, the stubborn modesty, ruthless grit, and unabashed
performance of Little Miss Higgins at El Sol y La Luna pointed to one
of the sexiest attributes of any and all performers regardless of
gender or talent."

Not only do we have the best pizza in town, we are also the center of Lethbridge's NightLife.
We are the only bar in town featuring live music every day of the week. Canadian touring artists, local legends and new emerging artists, everyone stops here.
