Singer songwriter Ethan Collister is a bright talent emerging on Canada's music scene. A direct, honest and outspoken lyricist as well as an accomplished guitar player, Collister has won over audiences across North America with his charismatic and captivating performances. His music has been featured on CBC Radio One and has won favor with campus and community stations across Canada. He has toured Canada twice and performed at an impressive array of venues ranging from the celebrated North Country Fair in Alberta to the historic Knitting Factory in New York City.
In October of 2009 Ethan entered the Factory Studios in Vancouver to record his third full-length album "Wishing Well". The album was self produced and features a collection of songs written over the past two years. These years saw Ethan spending time in places as varied as New York, India and Canada's vast Northern boreal forest. The songs are reflective of his eclectic experiences and showcase Collister's undeniable talent as a songwriter.
Ethan Collister's previous album "Folk Medicine" was independently released in December '07. "Folk Medicine" was recorded in Brooklyn, New York, where Collister performed weekly at the Union Smith Cafe during the winter of 2007-2008. Noteworthy achievements from the album include his song "War" which reached the top 50 on Neil Young's "Living With War" website, a comprehensive chart listing thousands of anti-war songs. Additionally, Collister's song "Don't Let The Rain Paint You Blue" was given 'very honourable mention' in the Garry Allen Music City Song Competition in Nashville, Tennessee.
Ethan Collister is currently based in Vancouver, British Columbia. He is currently performing in support of his new album "Wishing Well" and is planning a cross Canada tour scheduled to begin in early May.
