Sean Hogan http://www.seanhogan.net or  www.myspace.com/seanhoganfans

SEAN HOGAN BIO The response to Sean Hogan’s 1996 debut album over a decade ago was nothing less than spectacular! With a stylistic sound that some industry observers have described as dangerously balanced between “alt-country authenticity” and “modern rustic pop appeal,” his first release immediately caught the attention of country radio programmers and listeners across Canada. Their reaction earned him the first-ever C.C.M.A. Independent Male Artist of The Year Award in 1997. Since then, Hogan has become one of the highest profiled Canadian singer/songwriter artists, performing his own brand of Country and Roots music in Canada with an astounding SEVENTEEN videos aired on CMT Canada. The singer says he is “motivated by the satisfaction of tapping into a song idea, finding its true spirit, carving out its continuity and creating a song that reaches people with its story as well as its sheer emotion.” He has tapped into that vein more than once with such songs as Angeline, Catalina Sunrise, Centered, A Cowboy’s Heart, Tired of Leavin’, I’d Rather Have You, Sure Fire Love, Dream Vacation and Silver Lining Girl, just to name a few. Hijacked, Hogan’s second album, along with his third Canadian CD Late Last Night, won two consecutive West Coast Music Awards in 2001 and 2002, each for Best Country Album. In 2003, Hogan won C.C.M.A.’s Roots Artist of The Year, the first Independent artist to win this prestigious award. Hogan’s self-released U.S. Americana album debut, Ruled by Mercury, went Top 30, making it to ..24 on the AMA Americana Chart in January during Hogan’s self-organized debut tour in Australia. The following year, Hogan personally planned and launched the Canadian Country Christmas Concert tour, which he affectionately calls “my baby.”

Duane Steele www.myspace.com/duanesteele  or www.duanesteele.com

DUANE STEELE is among Canada's top country recording artists and songwriters with a professional career dating back to 1984. Born and raised in the small Alberta Peace Country town of Hines Creek, music was a big part of Duane's life growing up. He fondly remembers parties at his parents home with everyone sitting around singing and playing various instruments. As teenagers Duane and his cousins started a band spending summers and weekends playing for weddings and community dances. In 1984 Duane's professional career began, fronting the band Rock 'N' Horse. Their album, Highways, was released in 1991. Despite top 20 singles, non stop touring, and a Juno nomination for Country Band of the Year Rock 'N' Horse disbanded in 1993. Duane took this opportunity to pursue his goals as a recording artist and songwriter, landing a publishing contract with Warner Chapel in Nashville. This full time job as a staff songwriter allowed him the privilege of working with and learning from some of the most talented writers from the United States and Canada. In 1995 a showcase at Canadian Country Music Week in Calgary resulted in his signing a recording contract with Mercury Canada. Duane's solo debut album "PO Box 423" was released in February 1996 and saw his first three singles go Top 5 on the Canadian Country Charts, including the ..1 Hit "Anita Got Married". His sophomore release "This Is The Life" was released a year and a half later and furthered his presence on the Canadian music charts with all six singles released achieving Top 30 chart position (two becoming Top 10 hits). In support of both albums Duane released seven music videos on CMT (three of which went to ..1). Touring and promoting became a way of life for Duane once again. He was on the road traveling with his CCMA award winning band opening for some of the hottest acts in country music including Shania Twain, Terri Clark, Trisha Yearwood, Sammy Kershaw, and Prairie Oyster. In 1997 Duane was the winner of the CCMA for Vocal Collaboration of the Year with Lisa Brokop for the single "Two Names On An Overpass". In the spring of 1999 Duane returned to Canada to focus on his recording career. His third solo album "I'll Be Alright" was released in August 2000 with seven singles released to radio and three videos released to CMT. In 2001 Duane was rewarded for his first independently released album by winning the Independent Male Vocalist of the Year Award by the CCMA. 2004 saw the release of "Set List". A best of album including 17 radio singles from his three previous solo albums and three new songs that were released to radio. A video for the song "Better Man" was filmed in Calgary for CMT. July 2006 is the release date of Duane's newest project "Ghost Town" which he co- produced with recording artist, songwriter, and producer Steve Fox. Duane is extremely proud of this 100% Canadian album! This is Duane's first time assisting with the production side of the recording process. He is also excited to have national distribution through Icon Records with Universal Canada. Duane's pure voice and natural stage presence makes his live shows a must see. Fans relate to his lyrics and song writing style. When he is not touring or working on his own projects he is often writing with other artists. Production has been a natural progression and he looks forward to working in this area while continuing his own solo career.

Alyssa McQuaid   www.myspace.com/alyssamcquaid

My name is Alyssa McQuaid. I am from Lethbridge Alberta Canada, and I would love to welcome you to my page! I am 19 years old and I have been singing since I was 11. The first time I ever preformed for an audience was at a Christmas party at my Aunt's house in Pense Saskatchewan. I sang Frosty the Snowman and from that moment on, I fell in love. I picked up a guitar when I turned 14 and I realized that when you can accompany yourself, then you can make things more interesting; make other people's stories your own. I have always written poetry in my notebooks throughout school, but started writing music when I was 15. Perfect is the first full song I ever wrote. I love writing my own music, but I also think that there is a magical sort of beauty in telling other people's stories through cover songs!

Trevor Panczac www.myspace.com/trevorpanczak or www.trevortown.com

Trevor Panczak, 28, who was raised on a farm near Magrath, Alberta, Canada is the Country Showdown’s first Canadian to advance to the National Final. He is a four-time Montana State Winner (2003, 2004, 2006, 2007) & it’s a dream come true for him to be able to perform on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry. Besides the Showdown he has also excelled in other competitions, winning the Country Vocal Spotlight at the C.F.R. in Edmonton (2000) and the Calgary Stampede Youth Talent Showdown (1999). Trevor has been writing, singing & performing since age 14, beginning in his dad’s (Johnny Panczak) band up until his passing, as well as in his own energetic five-piece band Rough Stock. He has opened for Ian Tyson, Dan Seals, Aaron Lines, & Keith Urban. Describing his style, the “gentle giant” uses clever lyrics and laid back humor capture audiences’ hearts wherever he performs.
