Hailed as "Honey Voiced Alt-Folk" by FFWD Weeklys Mark Teo - Joshua Hughes - Singer/songwriter for Fast Moving Mountains has been creating electro-acoustic indie rock songs since 2005, when his songs debuted on the CBC TV Series "HEARTLAND". The next move for Joshua was to take the songs to a band and then on the road. The Fast Moving Mountains were formed and quickly embarked on a cross Canada tour. FMM went on to win the 2010 World Music Playoffs in Calgary and took their success into the studio to record their current EP. In a recent interview CMB: The Calgary Music Scene was quoted saying, "I more or less fell in love with FMM as soon as I heard their songs. They [songs] remind me of the endless possibilities I slip past everyday and wish I could have grabbed a hold of." After returning to Calgary from touring, FMM has seen dozens of venues and will be playing in support of their current 5 song release. The sound is that of early Coldplay, The Fray and has been called the NEW Goo Goo Dolls by Calgary Radio (X92.9’s Greg Beherrell). Their acoustic ballads, upbeat pop singles and strong, determined voice shows that Fast Moving Mountains are a rising band that you should not miss and has been hailed as a “Must See Live Act” by *Toronto Music Blog* and fans like.
