Diezel is a dynamic, high energy, enthusiastic 4 piece band led by front man & founding member:Freddie Lester, on Lead guitar and right hand man: Marty Benard. Back on drums and keeping the band together is: Mr Billy Dunkley and the newest member: Chad Drover pumping out solid Bass notes.This talented group of musicians does not and will not disappoint!! Diezel has established a fan base throughout BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. Diezel's new cd and sound will be leaning more towards a Outlaw country;Waylon Jennings & Johnny Cash meet Steve Earl. These sample demo's will be a preview of things to come.
Freddie Lester
Freddie is Diezel’s lead singer and rhythm guitar player. Born in Beardmore, Ontario and raised on Rocky Bay Reserve he started singing at seven years old in his school choir. He enjoys a wide variety of music, ranging from Johnny Cash to the Grateful Dead, Metallica to George Strait and nearly everything in between.
Joining his first band at age 13, Freddie played mostly in the Garage (lol), but the reaction of those listening and the smiles on their faces solidified to him that this is what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. In 1997 he was presented with the opportunity to sing again, through singer song writer Ed Molyski, this time with his brother.
For the next 5-7 years Diezel played many venues throughout western Canada and into the USA. Diezel toured the Gulf of Mexico, entertaining thousands of people from all over the world on the Rhapsody of the Sea, sailing in and out of Galveston, Texas.
Dedicated to his late father in 2007, Freddie alongside his brother, released their debut album DAY ONE, under their last name ‘Lester’. Freddie is extremely proud of the two songs on the album he penned, ‘Diezel Countrified’ and ‘Life Flies’. ‘Life Flies’ topped the charts in 2008 on NCI. Collaborating with Marty, Billy and Chad, Freddie is hoping to bring more hits to the charts.

Billy Dunkley
Billy is the drummer and also sings harmonies for Diezel. His love of music began at an early age of 5 when he began singing for his church congregation. The thrill of being on stage in front of so many people, smiling and applauding, gave him the heartfelt desire to pursue his talents for the rest of his life.
Billy started playing drums at the age of 11, as he recalls, at a friend's house while listening to Cheap Trick. He went home with the drums that day and has never looked back!
Billy has spent many years in both the rock and country market as the"singing drummer" that compliments every band he becomes a part of. His back-up and lead vocals lend that extra professionalism to every musical situation he finds himself in. Whether working diligently on his own songwriting, or lending his talents to an independent or cover project, Billy is content just to be playing.
Billy is the backbone which keeps Diezel going forward.
Brett Osborne
Brett is Diezel’s bass player who also is awesome at singing lead and on harmonies! Born in Valleyview, Alberta and raised on CalAla Ranch, this small town country boy was brought up on Rock n Roll but radiates a pure down home vibe.
Brett studied music at GMCC music program in Edmonton, Alberta. This gave him a great understanding of all styles of music including jazz, blues, country, rock and many others. The connections gained through this experience also allowed him to play with such acts as Prairie Knights, Tex Dalton, Alanis Morisette, Charlie Major, Lil Sugar, Chris Cummings, Claim Jumpers, Gail Gardner, Tom Jackson and many others.
This soft spoken gentleman will win your hearts and blow your minds with his solid innovative bass lines, his angelic voice, and amazing stage presence.
Brett is the powerful, reliable, tried and true “Diezel” engine.
