Singer/songwriter Ben Sures is the 2005 Winner in the folk category of the John Lennon songwriting contest and a winner in the 2006 International songwriting contest. Fan favourite lyrics and stories. Think Lyle Lovett meets Jack Johnson. The perfect artist to have and see at any festival or concert event.

At folk festivals there are less and less solo performers and if they get hired they have to have it all, stage presence, the songs, the communication and the stories and Ben Sures ranks up there with the best of these, one foot in the past and the rest in the present.
Ben Sures is a fun engaging storyteller and  singer/songwriter if you like  lyrics, stories and songs about everything from Rayguns to tropical fish to cooking to heartbreak. A Favourite of Canada's national broadcaster, the CBC. A perfect workshop host, tweener and more at festivals.

Truly one of Canada's best-loved singer/songwriters, Ben is the 2005 winner of the John Lennon songwriting contest in the folk category (out of 15 000 entrants) . He has performed at many of Canada's folk festivals and has been featured on CBC Radio (Canada's public broadcaster)his most recent album was number 30 in the top 100 for Alberta wide broadcaster CKUA and received medium rotation on 16 AC stations across Canada.

Raised on a diet of The Winnipeg Folk Festival and his mother's record collection of Neil Young, Muddy Waters, Thelonius Monk, Tom Waits and Lyle ovett.
Ben learned how to entertain an audience from the likes of James Keeelaghan and Taj Mahal . Ben has played many of the Major festivals in Canada. He has toured from the East Coast to the West regularly for ten years.

Ben has four independant cds available through itunes, Kerfmusic and CD Baby.He has  Worked as a commissioned songwriter for Canada's national broadcaster CBC radio in Winnipeg , Vancouver and Edmonton and done music for film and television including Sesame Street.
