A study in contradictions ; Lush instrumentals leading to heavy syncopated grooves, tension filled waves of dissonance give way to heart warming harmonies, the straight ahead pulse of rock counteracted with lyrics filled with surreal imagery.

Based out of Calgary, Alberta "This City Defects" began as early as 2007 when creator and band leader Adam Lamb started constructing epic arrangements out of mathy riffs and atmospheric soundscapes. With the help of and Matt Doherty (Drums), these early song constructions became the basis for some of the bands earliest demos.Aaron Scholpp (bass) were added in 2008 to complete the line up and thus "This City Defects" was born.

We came together sometime around February 2008... We knew it was meant to be when we played a backyard party in summer later on that year, and the cops came to shut it down. Instead they stayed to listen.
We work very hard at what we do and take it very seriously.
We support the Lethbridge music scene thoroughly, and want it to grow and mature into something totally rad and accessible to everyone. No playing favorites, no biases. No one left behind.
Our sound is pure, driven, rock and roll with a twist of math and immaturity. We love this band more than we love ourselves, and stick our necks out on the line for everything we do.
You haven't heard us on the radio, and lets hope you never have to (discounting independent radio of course.) But if you do, let's hope it's the beginning of a Rock and Roll Rebellion. A change for the better. An END to shitty regurgitated generic cock rock everywhere.
