Formed in 2009 by four university chums, Chron Goblin broke into the Calgary music scene with the release of their self-titled EP in April of 2010. A five song fuzz-laden groovy endeavour, the Chron Goblin EP demonstrated the guys’ eagerness to make a mark with their unique blend of crushing riffs, soaring melodic vocals, and head-banging rhythms. While some might call them stoner rock, others hard rock, metal, or punk, Chron Goblin draws from all of these genres to create a contemporary rock n’ roll sound described as “musical adrenaline incarnate” by Christine Leonard (FFWD Weekly).
Comprised of Josh Sandulak (vocals), Devin “Darty” Purdy (guitar), Richard Hepp (bass), and Brett Whittingham (drums), these four create a powerful and undeniable force that has earned them a dedicated and ravenous following - check out their live video for “Freedom or Death” as evidence of their raucous fan-base.
While their EP earned Chron Goblin attention in local press and online publications, it has only served as a taste for the potential that was revealed to a sold out show of 250+ at The Palomino on September 30th 2011 for the release of their first full-length album One Million from the Top. Recorded over a span of ten days throughout June of the same year with Casey Lewis at Echo Base studios, One Million from the Top is a cosmic leap from Chron Goblin’s first release in terms of songwriting, musicianship, and production value as the band has demonstrated their drive, passion, and dedication to progress as a solidified unit.
Featuring the punk rock-driven riffs of “Make You Mine”, the dirty heavy metal groove of “Bring Your Idols”, the meandering, atmospheric, and climactic compositions of “Suicidal Sewer Bomber” and “Open Up My Eyes and See”, as well as the genre-defying “Come Undone”, One Million from the Top demonstrates Chron Goblin’s determination to make themselves a hard rock-heavy metal force to be reckoned with.
After opening for the Devin Townsend Project on December 2nd 2011 at The Gateway,
Chron Goblin is poised for success in 2012 with more tour dates, local shows, a music video and a new album in the works. So get your “punk-metal-merriment”-on and smoke a beer with Chron Goblin at their next show.

  Lustre Creame  http://www.reverbnation.com/lustrecreame

The band Lustre Creame came into existence in the winter of 2007. Three individuals sharing like-visions of moving over and beyond the rock and roll status-quo: that of Aaron Trozzo, Willis Orriss, and Christopher Lipinski. It was this instantaneous mesh of ideas, creative drive, and individual blue-collar jadedness that had Lustre Creame immediately punching out new and exciting original material. As time ran on, it became obvious that the band had something of a special rock & roll relationship; individualistic in nature and breaching pure-rock-fury.

Lustre Creame have been described as “...the most entertaining live act in Lethbridge, not to mention the most technically proficient” but seeing is believing. Every song has been crafted from the ground up, largely abandoning the standard popular approaches to verse/chorus/verse writing methods, but maintaining values of melody, structure, and dynamic. Think of their musical styling as a delicious layer cake incorporating elements of progressive rock, funk, grunge, blues, world rhythms, and a thin stratum of weird pop. It it this flexibility within their music that makes them able to adapt and earn fans in any type of live performance setting.

Lustre Creame have released two EP's (independently written, recorded, mixed, mastered, packaged) and their first full-length is currently in the works, due mid-summer 2011. It's been said that the future holds good things for those who are willing to work hard for them; if this bears any truth, Lustre Creame should have a very interesting future ahead of them.
