 Tim Hus http://www.timhus.ca/REDhome.html

Tim Hus is a Calgary based Canaidan cowboy  musician. Tim Hus has a voice sweeter than a Husqvarna chainsaw, a wit that is sharper than rusty barbed wire, and a list of songs longer than a Saskatchewan fence line! Following his acclaimed CD Bush Pilot Buckaroo comes the highly anticipated fifth album (his 2nd for Stony Plain Records) Hockeytown joining Corb Lund and the legendary Ian Tyson on the label. Hus comes at his audience like a runaway rig, while firing off image-laden lyrics with the intensity of a western gunslinger.

The Alberta based singer with the black hat and easygoing personality is a captivating and crowd pleasing performer who easily draws listeners into the settings of his storytelling country and roots music. Tim's distinctive songwriting and spirited performances by the members of his dynamic band stand as a cornerstone of authentic Canadiana!

Even though Tim Hus is a young songwriter he writes the kind of songs that come from experience. He’s traveled a lot of miles, heard a lot of stories, and made a lot of friends along the way. He’s been everything from a beer truck driver to a sawhand, a salmon farmer to a tree planter, and a cabinet maker to a well driller. And he sings about all of it.

Tim has performed in many venues throughout Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and the Maritimes, repeatedly being asked to return. In 2002 and 2006 he received a very positive response to his music while performing in Germany.

Tim tours and performs concerts with his band Tim Hus & The Rocky Mountain Two, featuring Billy MacInnis on fiddle and lead guitar and Riley Tubbs on upright string bass. Billy is one of the most accomplished fiddle players in the Maritime provinces of Canada. He has appeared with country recording artists such as Prairie Oyster and John Allen Cameron and has been playing fiddle for the legendary Stompin' Tom for the last six years. Solid licks and agreeable melodies reinforce the songs while Tubbs lays down a solid rhythm with doghouse slap and a thick groove. Occasionally the group is joined by Pat Phillips on the drums.

Tim and his band will continue to perform in support of Hockeytown with performances at festivals, folk clubs and music venues throughout Canada.

 Brock Zeman http://www.brockzeman.com/

With nine-albums to his name and a few hundred live performances every year for almost a decade, singer-songwriter Brock Zeman is well-established as one of the Ottawa Valley’s hardest working musicians. All of this before the age of 30.  He’s also highly regarded, having earned praise from critics across the country. Exclaim! magazine says Zeman “is a songwriter worth hearing over and over again,” CKUA hails Zeman’s work as “intelligent, tuneful, heart-felt songs served up with an authentic but understated style” and the KW Record says that “Zeman doesn’t surrender an inch to any Texas singer/songwriter you care to name. Closer to home, he has the chops to join the likes of Fred Eaglesmith on the lonesome outskirts of town after the street lights come on.”

Zeman has also played on stage with some of the top talent of the contemporary roots and Americana scenes, including Steve Earle, Lynn Miles, Fred Eaglesmith, Blue Rodeo, Corb Lund, Toby Keith, Prairie Oyster and the Rodeo Kings, to name a select few.  Keith Glass of Prairie Oyster calls him, “an emerging Canadian powerhouse,” while Juno-award winner, Lynn Miles says “he’s a master songwriter…he belongs on stage with the big boys.”  By his mid-20s, Zeman signed with Busted Flat Records and had played most major music festivals in the country.  So marks the first fine chapter in Zeman’s music trajectory.

The past year has seen Zeman take on new challenges and roles in the music industry and expand his musical horizons.  He founded Mud Records, his signature label for releasing new material, including his most recent album “Me Then You.” But Mud Records also serves as the imprint for showcasing new roots talent handpicked by Zeman.  The first release on Zeman’s label was “Nights Take Forever” from singer-songwriter, Robert Larisey who made the Top 50 Artists listing in the Roots Music Report for the recording, while altcountry.nl gave it a 4 out of 5 stars. More recently, Mud Records released the debut album by the Brothers Through the Hill, “Adelaide”; the album received a rave review in the Ottawa Citizen, which also added that Zeman “recognizes talent when he sees it.”  Rootstime calls Mud Records “a promising young label.”
