- Bill Poss (Passalacqua) is a
songwriter, performer, booking agent and promoter. He has toured the
country extensively and also performed in New Zealand and Europe. His
CDs have been played on Americana and Folk radio stations. He calls
himself a bluegrass strummer, though much of his repertoire is country,
folk and rock.
He has written songs on his own and with others, including Tiffani Ginn,
Slaid Cleaves, Greg Klyma, Jeff Talmadge, Steve Tyska and Elizabeth
McQueen.
Passalacqua comes from a musical family and was for several years part
of the Poss Family Band, an eight piece family bluegrass outfit
featuring his father on banjo, three brothers, two nieces and his
adopted Uncle Fudd.
He plays guitar, bass and washboard. Four of his five CDs are still for
sale through his web-site: www.billpassalacqua.com
Passalacqua books, in addition to himself, Fred Eaglesmith, The Ginn
Sisters and Southpaw Jones. He also manages The Ginn Sisters, a band
comprised of his wife Tiffani, sister-in-law Brit, Mother-in-law Kari
and brother Larry on lead guitar. www.myspace.com/theginnsisters. If you
like his music but wish he was more 'country', you might want to check
out his brother Matt Poss, a great singer and songwriter from Effingham,
IL.
Also check out www.myspace.com/freyburghall to get some insight into the
100 yr. old dance hall that Passalacqua books and promotes shows for.
