Friday, May 11

There’s no better way to unwind after a long week at the office than SAAG’s Happy Hour! Relax and catch up with friends over a glass of wine or frosty beer, tasty snacks and sensational live music. Come on now – get happy!

Join us on Friday, May 11 for the charming ukulele sounds provided by Mary-Anne McTrowe, along with some very special guests! In 1989 Mary-Anne McTrowe was a member of a 4-person group that won third place in a high school air band competition. In 1994, while majoring in studio art at the University of Lethbridge, she bought her first ukulele, which she more or less secretly played for the next 10 years before working up the courage to perform in public. She continues to play secretly almost daily, both at home and in videos she posts on a YouTube channel the address of which she doesn’t give out. As one half of The Cedar Tavern Singers AKA Les Phonoréalistes, the art-ernative duo that refuses to admit they are a band, McTrowe has performed in art galleries in Canada and the United States.
