BIO

Jesse Roads

Jesse was born in the city of Lethbridge and raised to his teen years in the southern Alberta farming community of Raymond. Jesse's early inspirations include the hypnotic sounds of big-name artists such as Jimi Hendrix, The Black Crowes, City and Colour, Jack Johnson, Guns 'N' Roses, and Pink Floyd. Jesse is a rocker who has done his fair share of "paying his dues" opening and touring with such acts as: Carson Cole, Clayton Bellamy (of The Road Hammers), Tupelo Honey, Retrograde, The Smalls, and Mcquaig to name just a few.

From 2003 to 2006, Jesse had the pleasure of fronting southern Alberta's own hard rock trio "affliction" and received many notable reviews, toured Canada, and received radio airplay throughout Alberta and British Columbia.

The Jesse Roads Band is the latest branch of Jesse's creative tree. The JRB captures the high energy blues rock show that Jesse has spent years crafting.

In 2009-2010 Jesse held an impressive 85 week residence at Steeps Tea Lounge on Whyte Avenue in Edmonton, AB where he hosted an Acoustic Showcase. After a brief hiatus the showcase resumed in September 2011.

Michael John

Grew up in Southern AB, raised around agriculture and the oil and gas industry. Influences-Beatles, Metallica, Matthew Good, Alice in Chains, Dave Grohl, Nickelback classic rock as well as some of the new country and alt rock that is starting to surface. Michael John and Jesse met in their early teens and formed a bond as friends and a passion for collaborating on their different musical projects over the past 15 years. Michael John also honed his craft with the "affliction" project and has toured extensively across Canada with a few different projects. He recognizes the two differnt elements of contributing to the projects he's involved in: the writing/studio element and the art of transferring the studio work into a live performance that includes the "exchange of energy from the stage to audience and back again." He enjoys both elements equally and takes great pride in both. When Jesse Decided to put the project together he wanted the best... naturally it was an easy decision to track down Michael.

Stephen Flath

Owner and Developer of Rock and Rock 101 Studio in Coronation Alberta, Flath an experienced recording engineer, musician and producer with over 30 years experience in the Canadian music industry. Stephen Has toured for over 30 years. He is a legend in the industry and has a unique but genius style of bass playing. Stephen provides a completely different element to the band. With his demeanor and his flair, there is no mistaking when he takes to his passion. Jesse And Stephen go back almost 15 years and Jesse credits much of his technical knowledge to the teachings of Stephen himself. 14 years ago Jesse used to ride around Doing sound and tech support for many venues and bands with Stephen at the helm. When that time came to it's end Stephen purchased an old catholic church and completely transformed it into a recording/video studio. As the years went by Stephen and Jesse continually talked about doing a project together, and when Jesse Roads Band was born Stephen seemed like the natural fit for the bass. Stephen is Passionate and always giving his whole heart into every performance.

"Without music the world would be a empty lonely quiet place. When we look at the past we see it the best and the most thru the art left be hind."
