Shred Kelly is a formulation of friends and footstompin good times born in the East Kootenays of Fernie BC. The band began as a trio of Tim Newton, Ian-Page Shiner and Steve Polit. This trio grew to a 6 piece band in the summer of 2009 and has quickly grown into a group of artists who are ready to take on Canada.
Having been selected to play at the 2010 Olympics at the Plaza of Nations Stage in downtown Vancouver, it was just the beginning for Shred Kelly.
Shred Kelly has a unique sound as each band member has a unique taste in music. They definitely have influences from bluegrass, folk, blues, punk, experimental, rock and alternative. All of these different influences give Shred Kelly a unique flavor in each of their songs, and allows opportunities for each member to showcase their abilities and their musical inspirations.
They are really an amazing show to watch, such high energy, new sound and a performance that will leave you footstompin all the way home.
