Alyssa McQuaid
Alyssa McQuaid is a singer/songwriter whose mission is to motivate, inspire, and entertain a diverse audience of music lovers. Alyssa has performed at various venues and festivals throughout Canada and was recently a highlighted entertainer in the Alberta Music Association’s “Untapped Talent in Alberta” tour 2010, a Songwriting finalist in The Nashville Connection in Greenville South Carolina 2011, Winner of the eWomen Network National Singoff in Dallas Texas, 2011 and highlighted performer at the Canadian Country Weekend beer gardens stage 2011.
As a founding member, Alyssa helped establish a YWCA Girls’ Club in Lethbridge which has expanded to include chapters in cities across Canada. Alyssa was recently appointed the GirlSpace ambassador for the YWCA.
While no definitive measurements are possible, Alyssa’s past and present support of anti-bullying campaigns and Kid’s Help Phone campaigns has hopefully made a difference to at least some teenagers and young adults.
Further, her contribution to causes such as Breast Cancer research, International Women’s Day, Red Cross and so on, has made her a sought-after participant at many of the events sponsored by these causes.
