Toronto, ON – (August 12, 2013) – Hot on the heels of receiving his
very first Canadian Country Music Association Award™ nomination for
Rising Star, having his first radio single certified Gold and second
single “Hell Raisin’ Good Time” rocket into the Top 10 – Canada’s
fastest rising Country music star - Tim Hicks announced today that he’ll
kick off a national headline tour in September.
In support of
Hicks’ highly anticipated debut album “Throw Down”, the ‘Throw Down
Club Tour’ will see the chugging rocker who appeals to many on the road
for more than three months doing what he does best – delivering a “Hell
Raisin’ Good Time”!
“Get By” the GOLD certified Top 10 lead
single from “Throw Down”, soared up the charts in January and spent 17
weeks as the No. 1 selling Canadian Country single on iTunes.
Additionally, Hicks’s second single, “Hell Raisin’ Good Time” was the
No. 1 most added song at Canadian Country Radio upon its release. The
edgy, hard hitting Top 10 hit was also the No. 1 added track at Canadian
radio overall – all formats – proving once again that Hicks is here to
blow the doors off the Canadian music scene.
Hicks exploded
onto the scene earlier this year, building a strong fan base with “Get
By” the No. 1 Canadian song at Country radio for four weeks. The
Niagara based singer-songwriter literally dominated Canadian Country
radio and video airplay during the first half of the year and the lyric
video for the whimsical album track “Stronger Beer” became an instant
viral smash adding to the over 1 million + views on Hicks’ YouTube
channel.
With over 64 million audience impressions at radio,
Hicks’ fast rising success story is noteworthy and has garnered a lot of
attention from the industry and fans alike. Throughout the summer he’s
appeared at some of Country’s biggest music festivals including Boots
and Hearts where he drew an opening night crowd of over 15,000 devoted
fans who sang along to every word of the five tracks released previously
on Hicks’ No. 1 selling self-titled EP.
Successfully doing
his part to help define a kind of music that celebrates growing up in
small towns, hard work, and living life completely, Hicks’ solid
identity as the ‘one to watch’ separates him from the rest of the crowd
and puts him at the forefront – poised for major success in Country’s
breathtaking rise to the top of all genres of music.
Beginning Tuesday, August 13th, fans can pre-order “Throw Down” at iTunes.
Tickets for the ‘Throw Down Club Tour’ go on sale this Friday, August 16th. For full details and dates visit www.timhicksmusic.com/
