Lethbridge has been home to many of the influential, energetic, and
talented bands in southern Alberta. For years, the underground
Lethbridge music scene has thrived with acts that consistently push
genres to the limit, and make people sing their hearts out time and time
again. Though it is cliche to say "What goes up, must come down", the
phrase is second to none when it comes to music and the people that work
to make it happen. Acts come and go, but the music they create, and the
impression they make on every one, stays forever.
One of
Lethbridge's most energetic bands, Lightworker, will be re-uniting to
playing their final home town show. Lightworker came in to the scene,
guns blazing, being on the same bill as bands such as No Bragging
Rights, Texas In July, Intervals, Northlane, and Structures. The
release of "Sub Divo" pushed Lightworker in to the spotlight, and
created a family of fans that sang louder and threw down harder than
most. This is may Lightworker's last hometown show, but as George from
Alexisonfire said on their Farewell tour, "this is not a funeral, it's a
celebration." This is Lightworker's way of saying THANK YOU to
everyone.
This night is also dedicated to another
Lethbridge-Born act who is having their official EP release Show and is
breaking barriers and rapidly growing a stronger fan base. Shelter The
Weak have just released their EP, "Sink Or Swim". The influences that
come in to Shelter The Weak are so strong on so many different levels,
that every fan of every rock genre will find something to fall in to
when they hear Sink Or Swim for the first time. Shelter puts everything
they have and more in to everything they produce, from their debut EP,
to their explosive live show, and are not an act to be missed.
With two influential Lethbridge acts getting together to share the stage
one last time, it's also an opportunity to pass the torch of the older
generation's heart and soul to a new generation's up and coming group.
Hollow Hearts is playing their debut show and sharing the stage with two
heavy hitters, and if they are anything like their generation of
heart-pumping big name acts, then these guys are sure to impress as soon
as they step on stage.
We want you all to come join us in what
we will be one of biggest nights for all 3 bands, as well as one of the
biggest nights for the Lethbridge scene. All bands deserve a packed
house, and it's up to you to spread the word. We want you all to sing
so loud that all of Lethbridge can't ignore us.
