Born
in tornado alley, raised between mountains in Montana, and now residing
in Toronto, Rachael Cardiello sings of cross-border living, mental
institutions, love, ghosts, and an eclectic history of homes in an
alternative version of the American dream. Carrying a degree in
classical viola with a heavy emphasis on small ensemble work,
Cardiello's writing is infused with a thickened sense of harmony.
With the release of her first full length album Warm Electric Winter,
Cardiello dives into a neon folk sound: bold and electric with a full
band, horn section and back up singers. Whether performing with her
Toronto-based, nine piece soul-inspired band or touring as a duo with
her husband, Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist James Burrows,
Cardiello is a thought-provoking storyteller.

This
is a genre-crossing music. It is a brassy, full-throttle dance party
with the intimate counterpoint of chamber music. It is old time rock
and roll with classic harmonies and a wall of sound. It is heartfelt and
honest with all the extremes.
