Lori
Reid is a hard working, roots artist with a strong desire to connect.
Residing in the Canadian Rockies, she is a singer-songwriter who uses
her heartfelt, evocative lyrics and music drawn from her experiences and
surroundings, to create a kinship with the listener. Indeed audiences
from Northern Alberta to Nashville Tennessee, have connected with her "sweet, honey-suckled, folk songs". (Mike Bell, Calgary Herald)
Reid's
current focus finds her back on the road, connecting once again to her
audience, old and new, based on 10 plus years touring Vancouver to
Toronto, recording 3 albums with the fates (Jenny Allen, Lin Elder), and
two solo projects. Reid's highlights included opening for Jennifer
Warnes, festival appearances across the country and her first meeting
with Colin Linden.
Her most recent Project, Temperance Hotel was produced by Master guitarist, writer, producer and "Nashville" TV star, Colin Linden, an album Bell described as "Naturally pretty, engaging and articulate."
The album, recorded in the historic Canmore Hotel
with Linden, Reid and fellow fate, Lin Elder including Tennessee
sessions featuring Nashville Staples David Roe, Mickey Rapheal and Bryan
Owings, reached the # 5 spot on the Roots Music Report,
placement in a Canadian Independent film, regular satellite radio
airplay across North America as well as stellar support from from her
home based audiences in Alberta. In 2012, Reid was honoured by her
community for her contribution to the Arts, with the Canmore Mayor's Award.
Lori's current tour "Sugar Mine" will be making it's way across the province this spring with special guest, Pillgrim. Based
on the sentiments of the Colin Linden song of the same name, Sugar Mine
combines the forces of of the gritty, Alt/Country sensibilities of
Pillgrim and the Folk/Roots experiences of Reid. The duo, who have been
supporting each other on home stages of the Canadian Rockies are excited
for the opportunity of this collaboration. The tour is an effort to
both share and enrich one-anthers songs with their unique approach to
supporting each others music; a process which they've based their almost
20 year friendship upon.

We are the only bar in town featuring live music every day of the week. Canadian touring artists, local legends and new emerging artists, everyone stops here.
